Sister Cities of Vandalia held a Burns Supper and National Tartan Day Celebration on Saturday, April 5, 2008. The evening began at 6:00 PM with a cocktail hour, and then the welcome address by Harvey Kimmel at 7:00. The Procession of the Haggis was by Bob Schaffner who looked handsome in his new kilt. The Address to the Haggis was made by Richard Read, and then all guest were invited to sample the Haggis and have a shot of Scotch. A buffet dinner followed and then Mike and Mary Blakesly presented an Immortal Memory of Robert Burns. The Toast to the Lassies was by Wayne Wright and Bev Schieltz provided the Response to the Laddies. Entertainment for the evening was provided by Gallagher's Ramble.
