Youth Programs
There are 3 programs for youth within Sister Cities of Vandalia.
Youth Group
The youth group is composed of local youth who support the goals of Sister Cities of Vandalia. They hold monthly meeting, often at the same time as the regular membership meetings. They operate a booth at the annual Oktoberfest and hold other fund raising activities to support their activities.
Youth Exchange
Sister Cities of Vandalia sponsors three high-school students each year to visit and study in Lichtenfels for three weeks. The young people live in the home of their German counterparts and then return with them to Vandalia for a three week study/visit here.
Pictured at the right are the three German students from the 2002 exchange. This picture was taken in 2005 when Vandalia members visited Lichtenfels and were able to meet with friends from a past exchange.
From March 17 to April 7, four students from Lichtenfels will be visiting Vandalia for the 2008 Youth Exchange.Read an Article from the Dayton Daily News about the 2008 Youth Exchange Visit.

Scholarship Awards
Each year Sister Cities of Vandalia awards scholarships to Butler seniors who are planning to study language, foreign affairs or international culture. Second year scholarships are available if the students maintain a GPA of 3.00.
